Four line courses are offered, in grassy woodland on privately managed land near Batchelor. No dogs please.
A particular feature of the map are some magnificent stromatolite formations relatively close to the start area.
Participants should be aware:
There are signs of buffalo and pigs in the area.
There are very few tracks on the map.
The Easy course will include taped cross country legs.
All participants or groups should carry a compass
Moderate and Hard courses require use of bearings, and sound estimation of distance between checkpoints.
The checkpoints are marked by hanging, uniquely numbered orange and white flags, with manual punch attached.
Participants carry a 'punchcard' to record their checkpoint visitation.
Phone reception is limited.
MapRun will be used for timing - download before leaving Darwin.
Please ensure the staff at the start/finish desk know when you begin your course and return from your course.
